I used the Sold Out Software version of the game, and you can save yourself some time and aggravation if you use the setup.exe file in the root directory of the CD-ROM to install this version of the game rather than the autorun.exe approach.
When I run the game, I use the startup.exe file in the CD-ROM root directory. This starts the game launcher, and if you select the option to play the game, the main menu appears. The odd thing about this menu (and any in-game levels) is that in order to select an option, you have to click about 1 1/2 inches above and 2 inches to the left of the option you want to select. Some people find the Myth series difficult to play with its peculiar play and camera controls, but this added difficulty makes it impossible to play. You can play the tutorial and the game, but you still have to contend with the cursor offset issue. Using a virtual desktop did not affect this problem.
I applied the unofficial Version 1.5 patch from this site: http://projectmagma.net/downloads/tfl/ . This patch fixed the cursor offset issue.
I have not tested multiplayer/network play.

- Keep an eye out for stray green dots on the radar screen to keep your army together.
- Use the terrain. Plant your archers atop hills whenever possible, and use trees as cover during attacks.
